Constructions with TOO and
ENOUGH

Too (Too Show a less or more than
normal condition/ situation)
a.
Too followed by adjective
Ex : The coffee is hot. I cannot drink it.
ð
The coffee is too hot for
me to drink.
The Spanner is very big. The Nut is not.
ð
The Spanner is too big for
the Nut.
Note
: “TOO” (= Terlalu) is used to show unsuitability/incapability.
b.
Too followed by adverb of manner
Ex
: The professor speaks too fast to
understand
That child spoke too softy to hear
c.
Too followed by many or much
Ex : There is too much work to finish in an hour.
I have too many letters to replay it two days.

Adjective + enough
Ex : The pipe is
flexible, therefore we can bend it.
ð
The pipe is flexible enough
(for us) to bend.
The Spanner is
big. The Nut is also big.
ð
The Spanner is big enough
for The Nut.
Note
: “Enough” (= Cukup/pas) is used to show suitability/ capability.
